My inspiration for my work is my love of animals. My techniques and methods are a combination of not only my education, but my years of experience renovating and building.
My art school education comes from several years at Parson's School of Design, in NYC. I moved back to rural Western NY State, and bought an abandoned cabin in the woods. I learned how to do all aspects of renovation. I find that I incorporate this knowledge into my creations, from using certain materials used in the building trades, or knowing how to properly create an armature. I have two dogs, two cats, a house rabbit, and a flock of unruly chickens. You'll notice their influence in my art. The main component of my sculptures is a recycled newspaper clay, that I developed the recipe for. I also combine polymer clay, found objects, and other mixed media for my whimsical creations.
